As farmers who have moved into the field of producing feed we have an intimate knowledge of the needs of other farmers. We farm and locally source many of the grains used in our feed, as well as access ingredients from other regions to create the most efficient products possible. High quality feed allows for enhanced animal productivity and increased lifespan of the animal. Our mill focuses on both high quality feed and customer service.

Willow Mills works together with independant nutritionists to produce a line of custom formulated bulk and toted mash feeds and mineral packs. We also broker individual ingredients and commodities.

We are excited to be able to offer our customers a BOS MINERAL that has been custom formulated to meet the nutritional needs of the prairie farmer. Below are the details distinguishing the unique qualities of two products, Summer BOS G and Summer BOS L.

SUMMER BOS MINERAL

•All BOS mineral premixes are suitable for dry pregnant beef cows, lactating beef cows, replacement heifers and backgrounding calves.

• BOS mineral and vitamin premixes are balanced by BeefSmart Consulting Inc. and are designed for optimal animal growth, reproductive performance and productivity.

• BOS mineral premixes contain chelated trace minerals to ensure optimal performance, animal growth, and reproductive performance.

• Chelated trace minerals have increased bioavailability to prevent mineral imbalances when feed or water antagonists are present. Antagonists (i.e. sulfates, iron, molybdenum) can make trace minerals less available to the animal.

• Salt is included in all BOS mineral premixes to meet salt requirements and encourage the target intake.

• Summer BOS G and Summer BOS L mineral premixes are available with or without garlic.

Summer BOS G - Use when pastures are predominantly grass forages. Higher calcium and lower phosphorus mineral complements grass forage diets.

Summer BOS L - Use when pastures have a high population(>40%) of legume forage species. Legume species have higher calcium levels so less calcium is needed in the mineral offered.
